1983 ATCC Winner Allan Moffat Mazda RX-7 has just arrived.

Allan Moffat was instrumental in bringing Mazda into the Australian touring car scene. Over a four year span beginning in 1981, Moffat took the Mazda RX-7 to victory in the 1983 Australian Touring Car Championship. In addition to his ATCC success, Moffat achieved a trio of Bathurst 1000 podiums, with third in 1982, second in 1983 and third again in 1984.

With the adoption of International Group A regulations in 1985 and Mazda's reluctance to homologate a Group A version of the RX-7, Mazda's Australian Touring Car program was shelved at the conclusion of the 84 season.
