1984 MAZDA RX-7 - #42 - MOFFAT/HANSFORD

MAZDA RX7 - #42 - MOFFAT/HANSFORD - 3RD PLACE, 1984 JAMES-HARDIE 1000.

PART OF THE ALLAN MOFFAT COLLECTION.

The final Bathurst endurance race of the Group C touring car era in 1984 proved to be a classic James Hardie 1000 at Mount Panorama.
Not only was it the farewell to Group C, but also a goodbye to the rotary-powered Mazda RX7 that Allan Moffat had introduced
amid a wave of controversy and gone on to prove more than a match for the big V8-powered Commodores and Falcons.

But Bathurst was always a race that eluded the Japanese 'buzz box' and so it proved again in 1984, however Moffat and the late Gregg Hansford were able to round out the podium in third place behind the mighty 1-2 of the Holden Dealer Team.

This model will be in store on Friday.

I am letting everyone know early as Biante are sold out and they are going to be in short supply.

Price is $205 and availablehere
